What’s involved?
A once a month commitment on average on an agreed rota basis, on a Thursday (10.00 – 12.00 although often completed much earlier) to copy the previous day’s recording of the Talking News onto USB memory sticks.
The News will have been narrated by our Reader volunteers on the previous day, and formatted by the Recorder and left on two master USB memory sticks. The master USB sticks are used for copying the required number for posting to our listeners by our Despatch volunteers.
After copying, the USB sticks are checked individually on a USB player before giving them to the despatcher for posting.
In addition to the above, the content on the previous week’s memory sticks is deleted leaving them ready for copying on the following week.
Full training will be given and the role does not require any previous experience of working with audio or copying equipment.
