Testimonials

Listen to our Listeners

Listener happiness is at the core of our charity’s aims. If our listeners aren’t happy, we’re not happy. Read what they’re saying below.

I think the Talking News is a fantastic idea for people who cannot read. It tells you local knowledge and ideas of what is coming. I think the Talking News is a brilliant idea for people who can no longer read, it keeps them in touch with their area.

Irene

Whitby Listener

The reason I like the Talking News so much is that there’s always at least one item that really of real interest. There’s always something of particular interest. To anyone. As well as the general news of what’s going on in Scarborough and villages. So thank you.

Anne

Scarborough Listener

Since I’ve been severely visually impaired, I’ve no longer been able to read for myself. So the Scarborough Talking News is marvellous for me. It helps me to feel included in what is going on and makes me feel that I’m still part of the community.

Join a great team of volunteers

We are a wide range of volunteers from a variety of backgrounds. You can volunteer your services to Scarborough Talking News in many ways, as often as you are able. You can be part of the production process, to make each week’s News, but we also need administrative help and fundraisers.

Working to produce a weekly Talking News is a very rewarding and enjoyable role to play within our community. 😍
